Exceedingly rare program from the first game ever played at the original Yankee Stadium. Considered by many the single most significant regular season program in history. These programs were only made for that day. Fans had to be turned away even though over 74,000 fans had already passed through the turnstiles. The Yankees had been playing their home games at the Polo Grounds before this stadium was built. Ruth, of course, hit one out that day...a 3 run blast off Howard Ehmke. After the game, legendary sportswriter Fred Lieb dubbed the stadium, "The House that Ruth built". If you are looking for a once in a lifetime Yankee treasure, one that likely only the very few can say have even seen, no less own…here is your chance. We anticipate tremendous interest in this true showstopper. Could easily be the centerpiece of any Yankee fan's collection. The program is not scored.
