30th Celebration: chase cards, pull rates and most valuable cards

The Pokémon TCG 30th anniversary expansion: its chase cards, rarity tiers, what each product contains, sold prices as of October 17, 2026, and what the published opening studies found.

30th Celebration is a special Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Mega Evolution Series, released on September 16, 2026, the first expansion to launch on the same day worldwide. Its main set is numbered to 128; with the cards above that number and three Mew cards marked R, G and B instead of a number, the set list runs to 161 cards. A separate 30-card Classic Collection of reprinted older cards turns up in the same booster packs, and every card in a pack is foil. This page shows the cards collectors chase, ranks them by sold prices as of October 17, 2026, lists what each sealed product holds and compares two published pull-rate studies. It is a reference, not buying advice.

The chase cards

The grid shows the three RGB Mew cards, the four Classic Collection reprints with the highest ungraded prices, the five most valuable Special Illustration Rares and both Futuristic Rares, ordered by ungraded price, with ungraded and PSA 10 prices as of October 17, 2026. The RGB Mews carry a letter instead of a number (R/RGB, G/RGB and B/RGB). Classic Collection cards keep the number of the card they reprint, so Charizard reads 4/102.

  • Three cards stand apart. Each RGB Mew was above $3,600 ungraded; the next single, the Classic Collection Lugia, was at $218.77. Their PSA 10 figures rest on very few sales: none for R/RGB, one for G/RGB and three listed for B/RGB, between $13,850.69 and $14,800.00.
  • Reprints rank high. Four of the ten most valuable singles are Classic Collection cards: Lugia, Charizard, Magikarp and Gengar.
  • The PSA 10 order is different. After the RGB Mews, Lugia leads at $2,899.99 on about one sale a year, then Charizard at $2,017.43; Gengar ex #154, Mew ex #152 and Pikachu ex #150 all sit between $1,225 and $1,278.
  • What is left out. Sealed products, and a Pikachu ex numbered 031/30TH-P whose listed sales were Chinese-language copies.
  • Graded vs raw. Whether a PSA 10 price is worth chasing depends on the odds of getting one and on the fees; Is it worth grading? works through the method and PSA 9 vs PSA 10 covers what separates the two grades.

Pull rates

No official pull rates were found for 30th Celebration; the only official guarantee is one Pikachu card in every booster pack. The figures below are estimates from two published openings, per pack: TCGplayer's opening of more than 3,000 packs (published September 24, 2026) and a tally of 4,063 packs from streamed openings by Discord user @Tommy13, reported on September 17, 2026.

30th Celebration pull-rate estimates (share of packs, or packs per hit)

Futuristic Rare0.83% ± 0.31% (1 in 120)1 in 99
RGB Mewnone found1 found; plausible range 1 in 718 to 1 in 23,016

TCGplayer also gives per-card odds, assuming every card of a rarity is equally common: about 1 in 48 packs for a specific Double Rare, 1 in 91 for a specific Illustration Rare, 1 in 205 for a specific Special Illustration Rare, 1 in 240 for a specific Futuristic Rare and 1 in 295 for a specific Classic Collection card such as Charizard (0.34%). It puts a hit in roughly every three packs, against every five in other Mega Evolution sets, where it gives typical rates of 1 in 9 for Illustration Rares and 1 in 80 for Special Illustration Rares.

Where the estimates disagree

  • RGB Mew. TCGplayer found no copy in more than 3,000 packs and calls the rate too low to calculate. The @Tommy13 tally found one, and its own plausible range spans 1 in 718 to 1 in 23,016 packs, so neither gives a usable rate.
  • Futuristic and Special Illustration Rares. The tally's 1 in 99 and 1 in 18 are a little better than TCGplayer's 1 in 120 and 1 in 21; with so few hits, both are rough. The report on the tally notes that its sample, taken from streamed openings, may not be representative.
  • The common hits agree. Both put Double Rares and Illustration Rares at about 1 in 4 to 5 packs and Classic Collection cards at about 1 in 10.

Checklist before you rely on a number here

  • ☐ The price has a date: everything above is as of October 17, 2026, and a new set's prices move daily.
  • ☐ You have the right card: Pikachu ex appears as #149 and #150, Mew ex and Mewtwo ex as both Special Illustration and Futuristic Rares, and Classic Collection cards carry their original numbers.
  • ☐ You are comparing the same language: some RGB Mew sale listings are Japanese or Indonesian copies.
  • ☐ The PSA 10 price rests on regular sales (check the volume column).
  • ☐ Pull rates are averages over many packs; one Elite Trainer Box can land well above or below them.
  • ☐ Before grading, check the card against the modern pre-grading checklist.
