Twilight Masquerade: chase cards, pull rates and most valuable cards
The chase cards of Scarlet & Violet—Twilight Masquerade, what each rarity tier means, sold prices as of October 19, 2026, and what the published pull-rate estimates found.
Twilight Masquerade is a Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Scarlet & Violet Series, released on May 24, 2024. Its main set has 167 cards, and 59 more are numbered above it (168/167 to 226/167), for 226 cards in all. The set is built around the Kitakami story of the Teal Mask: Ogerpon appears as four different Tera Pokémon ex, one for each of its masks, and Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti get their first Pokémon TCG cards. The Special Illustration Rare Greninja ex is by far the set's most valuable card. This page shows the cards collectors chase, ranks them by sold prices as of October 19, 2026, and compares the published pull-rate estimates. It is a reference, not buying advice.

- Greninja ex leads by a wide margin. The Special Illustration Rare #214 was at $253.20 ungraded, almost twice Perrin #220 ($135.00), and at $642.27 it was also the highest PSA 10 in the table, with about two PSA 10 sales a day. The Ultra Rare Greninja ex #198 ($15.77 raw) was at $152.70 in a PSA 10.
- Illustration Rares grade up well. Eevee #188 is third raw at $82.56 and was at $278.99 in a PSA 10, level with Perrin ($279.71). Chansey #187 was at $267.94 in a PSA 10. Hisuian Growlithe #181 ($25.23 raw, $165.27 PSA 10) and Tatsugiri #186 ($20.11 raw, $161.25 PSA 10) were higher in a PSA 10 than six of the Special Illustration Rares in the table.
- The Supporter cards. All four Supporter Special Illustration Rares are in the top nine: Perrin #220, Carmine #217 ($48.06), Lana's Aid #219 ($30.62) and Kieran #218 ($26.72).
- Ogerpon trails. Of the four Ogerpon ex Special Illustration Rares, only Teal Mask Ogerpon ex #211 ($18.79) made the top twelve; Wellspring Mask #213 was at $14.84, Cornerstone Mask #215 at $11.45 and Hearthflame Mask #212 at $11.05.
- The gold cards. No Hyper Rare made the table: the highest were Buddy-Buddy Poffin #223 at $11.63 and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex #221 at $10.48 ungraded. The most valuable ACE SPEC, Unfair Stamp #165, was at $12.56.
- What is left out. Sealed products and special versions are not ranked, such as the Greninja ex [Metal] #106 ($65.00 ungraded, $437.11 PSA 10) and the Prize Pack Unfair Stamp #165 ($62.15 ungraded).
- Graded vs raw. Whether a PSA 10 price is worth chasing depends on the odds of getting one and on the fees; Is it worth grading? works through the method and PSA 9 vs PSA 10 covers what separates the two grades.
Pull rates
No official pull rates were found for Twilight Masquerade; TCGTalk also notes that The Pokémon Company does not publish them. The figures below are estimates from published pack openings: they are per pack, not guarantees. Only one large study with its own method was found, TCGplayer's opening of more than 8,000 packs before release. TCGTalk's value guide (September 2026) gives rates it calls community estimates from 8,000+ packs, without a breakdown; other pull-rate pages found repeat TCGplayer's figures.
| Source (date) | Sample | Double Rare | Ultra Rare | ACE SPEC Rare | Illustration Rare | Special Illustration Rare | Hyper Rare |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TCGplayer (May 24, 2024; updated Feb 27, 2025) | more than 8,000 packs | 16.93% ± 0.79% (1 in 6) | 6.61% ± 0.52% (1 in 15) | 5.06% ± 0.46% (1 in 20) | 7.73% ± 0.56% (1 in 13) | 1.17% ± 0.23% (1 in 86) | 0.68% ± 0.17% (1 in 146) |
| TCGTalk (September 2026) | “8,000+ packs” (aggregate, no breakdown) | 20% (about 1 in 5) | about 1 in 15 | 1 in 20 | about 1 in 13 | 1 in 86 | 1 in 146 |
TCGplayer's Authentication Center opened the packs to prepare for the release. It also gives per-card odds, assuming every card of a rarity is equally common: about 1 in 83 packs for a specific Double Rare, 1 in 119 for a specific ACE SPEC, 1 in 272 for a specific Illustration Rare, 1 in 318 for a specific Ultra Rare, 1 in 879 for a specific Hyper Rare and 1 in 941 for a specific Special Illustration Rare; for Greninja ex #214 it puts the chance at 0.11% per pack. ACE SPEC cards appear in the first reverse holo slot; Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rares and Hyper Rares in the second.
- Double Rare: 16.93% ± 0.79% of packs, about 1 in 6 packs.
- Ultra Rare: 6.61% ± 0.52% of packs, about 1 in 15 packs.
- ACE SPEC Rare: 5.06% ± 0.46% of packs, about 1 in 20 packs.
- Illustration Rare: 7.73% ± 0.56% of packs, about 1 in 13 packs.
- Special Illustration Rare: 1.17% ± 0.23% of packs, about 1 in 86 packs.
- Hyper Rare: 0.68% ± 0.17% of packs, about 1 in 146 packs.
Where the estimates differ
- Double Rares. TCGplayer has 16.93% ± 0.79% of packs (about 1 in 6); TCGTalk says roughly once every 5 packs (20%). TCGTalk's 20% lies outside TCGplayer's confidence range (about 16.1% to 17.7%), and TCGTalk does not say where the higher figure comes from. Its other five rates match TCGplayer's rounded figures.
- Against Temporal Forces. TCGplayer found the odds of each rarity “completely identical” to the previous set, Temporal Forces, and the two sets almost the same size (218 cards against 226), so the odds of a specific card are virtually the same too.
- What counts as a hit. TCGplayer notes that hit rates feel better than earlier Scarlet & Violet sets if ACE SPEC cards count as hits, and worse if they do not.
- Release-week reports. Dexerto reported on release day (May 24, 2024) that players were complaining about low hit rates, citing individual Elite Trainer Box openings; it gave no sample size, and noted pull rates may simply seem low on day one. Single boxes are too small to test against an 8,000-pack study.
Checklist before you rely on a number here
- ☐ The price has a date: everything above is as of October 19, 2026, and prices move daily.
- ☐ You are comparing like with like: ungraded with ungraded, PSA 10 with PSA 10, and the right card number (Greninja ex is printed as #106, #198 and #214, and the Metal version is a separate card).
- ☐ The PSA 10 price rests on regular sales (check the sales column; “1 sale per week” is thinner than “2 sales per day”).
- ☐ Pull rates are averages over many packs; a single box can land well above or below them.
- ☐ Before grading, check the card against the modern pre-grading checklist.
