| 15 | Archaludon ex #241 | Special Illustration Rare | $11.71 | $53.45 | 2 sales per week |
- One Pikachu far ahead. Pikachu ex #238 ($227.24 raw, $718.00 in PSA 10, about two PSA 10 sales a day) is the set's top card; Latias ex #239 followed at $162.00 raw and $399.00 in PSA 10, then Milotic ex #237 at $98.52.
- Pikachu ex at every rarity. The same Pokémon spans four tiers: Special Illustration Rare #238 ($227.24), Hyper Rare #247 ($69.23), Ultra Rare #219 ($25.55) and the Double Rare #057 ($4.74 raw, $87.48 in PSA 10).
- Illustration Rares jump the most when graded. Slakoth #212 sold for $12.00 raw but $198.79 in PSA 10, more than 16 times as much; Latios #203 ($33.01 to $221.25), Ceruledge #197 ($19.32 to $184.43) and Mesprit #204 ($13.50 to $122.50) show the same pattern. By PSA 10 price, Slakoth ranks sixth in the set.
- Most gold cards trail. Apart from Pikachu ex, the Hyper Rares listed between $3.31 (Counter Gain #249) and $10.88 (Alolan Exeggutor ex #248) raw, below most Special Illustration Rares.
- What is left out. Sealed products and Prize Pack, stamped, staff or league versions are not ranked. A Prize Pack Pikachu ex #57, for example, is listed separately at $27.64 raw and $415.11 in PSA 10, far above the regular Double Rare. Check which version a listing shows.
- Graded vs raw. Whether a PSA 10 price is worth chasing depends on the odds of getting one and on the fees; Is it worth grading? works through the method and PSA 9 vs PSA 10 covers what separates the two grades.
Pull rates
The Pokémon Company does not publish pull rates. The largest published count is TCGplayer's: before the November 8, 2024 release, the TCGplayer Authentication Center opened more than 8,000 booster packs, and its article (updated February 27, 2025) gives per-pack rates with 95% confidence ranges. A much smaller tally of 500 packs published by TCGTalk in 2025, with no exact date, no named opener and several card-name errors in its list, is shown only as a cross-check. Both are estimates, not guarantees.
| Rarity | TCGplayer, any card | TCGplayer, a specific card | TCGTalk, 500 packs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Double Rare | 16.94% ± 0.79% (1 in 6) | 0.94% (1 in 106) | 85 “EX cards”, ~17% (1 in 6) |
| Ultra Rare | 6.74% ± 0.53% (1 in 15) | 0.32% (1 in 312) | 22 full-art Pokémon (~4.4%) + 12 full-art Trainers (~2.4%) |
| ACE SPEC Rare | 5.03% ± 0.46% (1 in 20) | 0.63% (1 in 159) | 25, ~5% (1 in 20) |
| Illustration Rare | 7.67% ± 0.56% (1 in 13) | 0.33% (1 in 300) | 39, ~7.8% (1 in 13) |
| Special Illustration Rare | 1.15% ± 0.22% (1 in 87) | 0.10% (1 in 960) | 7, ~1.4% (1 in 71) |
| Hyper Rare | 0.53% ± 0.15% (1 in 188) | 0.09% (1 in 1,127) | 5 gold cards, ~1% (1 in 100) |
- Double Rare: 16.94% ± 0.79% of packs, about 1 in 6; TCGTalk counted 85 “EX cards” in 500 packs (~17%).
- Ultra Rare: 6.74% ± 0.53% of packs, about 1 in 15; TCGTalk splits these into full-art Pokémon (~4.4%) and full-art Trainers (~2.4%), so no single marker is drawn.
- ACE SPEC Rare: 5.03% ± 0.46% of packs, about 1 in 20; TCGTalk ~5%, 1 in 20.
- Illustration Rare: 7.67% ± 0.56% of packs, about 1 in 13; TCGTalk ~7.8%, 1 in 13.
- Special Illustration Rare: 1.15% ± 0.22% of packs, about 1 in 87; TCGTalk ~1.4%, 1 in 71 (7 cards).
- Hyper Rare: 0.53% ± 0.15% of packs, about 1 in 188; TCGTalk ~1%, 1 in 100 (5 gold cards).
What the counts say, and where they differ
- Where the hits sit. TCGplayer found Double Rares and Ultra Rares in the Rare slot, ACE SPECs in the first Reverse Holo slot, and Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rares and Hyper Rares in the second.
- Normal odds by rarity, poor odds by card. TCGplayer found the rates for each rarity in line with the other regular 2024 sets since Temporal Forces; its Hyper Rare figure for Stellar Crown (1 in 137) against Surging Sparks (1 in 188) is within its confidence range. But Surging Sparks has 61 cards above the main set, against 56 in Temporal Forces and 59 in Twilight Masquerade, so each specific card is harder to find.
- The Pikachu ex odds. A specific Special Illustration Rare such as Pikachu ex #238 works out at 0.10% per pack, about 1 in 960. TCGplayer puts that on a par with the Greninja ex Special Illustration Rare in Twilight Masquerade. The per-card figures assume every card of a rarity is equally common; TCGplayer says the cards it found fit within that range.
- Where the counts disagree. TCGTalk's 500 packs gave a higher Special Illustration Rare rate (7 cards, about 1 in 71, against TCGplayer's 1 in 87) and a much higher gold-card rate (5 cards, about 1 in 100, against 1 in 188). With so few hits, one or two cards move those figures a lot; TCGplayer's own range for Hyper Rares is 0.38% to 0.68%. TCGplayer's article also heads its Special Illustration Rare section “1 in 90” while its table says 1 in 87.
- No god packs reported. Neither count reports packs with several Special Illustration Rares at once, unlike Prismatic Evolutions, the next Scarlet & Violet expansion.
- Per pack, not per box. All figures are per booster pack. A single box or Elite Trainer Box can land well above or below them.
Checklist before you rely on a number here
- ☐ The price has a date: everything above is as of October 29, 2026, and prices move daily.
- ☐ You are comparing like with like: ungraded with ungraded, PSA 10 with PSA 10, and the right card number (Pikachu ex is 057, 219, 238 and 247; Latias ex is 076, 220 and 239).
- ☐ The card is the regular set version, not a Prize Pack, stamped, staff or promo printing.
- ☐ The PSA 10 price rests on regular sales (check the volume column).
- ☐ Pull rates are per-pack estimates from community counts, not official odds; specific-card figures assume equal numbers of each card in a rarity.
- ☐ Before grading, check the card against the modern pre-grading checklist.
